Magayaas angolan followers arrested

Two Angolan nationals were recently arrested after they illegally entered the country in a bid to attend a spiritual healing session by Prophet Walter Magaya at Sakubva Beit Hall.

The Angolans, Costa Daniel Antonio, 36, and Afonso Esteve Joao, 33, appeared before Mutare magistrate Sekai Chiundura on Monday charged with contravening Zimbabweas immigration laws.

Antonio told the court he was epileptic and was seeking miracle healing from the Prophetic Healing and Deliverance (PHD) leader, adding that Joao was just accompanying him.

a?Your Worship, we travelled all the way from Angola for spiritual healing from Prophet Magaya.

a?I have suffered from epilepsy for years and wanted to be delivered by the man of God; we heard of his miracles in Angola,a? said Antonio.

Magistrate Chiundura remanded the two in custody, pending deportation to Angola.

a?You had no right to travel from Angola without valid documents.

a?If you want Prophet Magaya to deliver you from your illness make sure you apply for proper travelling documents (rather) than risk being arrested and deported,a? said Chiundura.

Prosecutors told the court that on April 4 this year, the two foreign nationals were arrested at Forbes Border Post.

They were interrogated and it was discovered that they did not have any travel documents. a New Zimbabwe
