A HARARE magistrate has advised a man to love his wife to avoid further domestic fights.

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi urged Tapiwa Mutize to stop quarrelling with his wife, Clara Mutize, but to love her instead.

Clara had approached the court seeking a protection order against Tapiwa, accusing him of assaulting and insulting her in front of their children.

Clara told the court that Tapiwa has a girlfriend who always texts and calls him.

“He is my husband, but he is tormenting me. I am a hairdresser, and if I get home late, he insults me with obscenities and beats me up.

“He threatens to stab me with a knife or cut off my head,” she said.

The magistrate granted the order and said:

“Tapiwa go and love your wife or else you are going to fight every day and get arrested.”

Tapiwa did not oppose the application.
