Gospel musician Tendai Mahachi has engaged several South African musicians for the launch of the inaugural of Afrigospel Unite Festival.
Launched last week in Durban, the festival will see different gospel musicians from across Africa performing.
The musician said he was happy to be part of the festival and is looking forward to yield good results from it.
Machachi will join several musicians like Thina Zungu, Khaya Mtethwa, Sfiso Ncwane, Dumi Mkokstad, Bethusile Mcinga, Gah Ndlela, Frank Chimpanzi and Uche.
“That will be an exciting encounter because the list has some of the biggest gospel musicians in Africa,” he said.
He said he was preparing well for the festival.
“Zimbabwe is full of talent and we are hopeful that my performance will raise the flag of our country high,” he said.
At the launch of the festival in Durban Mahachi performed to overwhelming response.
“That was another experience because I had time to mix with several artistes in South Africa with some of them appreciating my music,” he said.
Mahachi, who was appointed brand ambassador of Care at the Core of Humanity – a private voluntary organisation – ventured into music in 2007 when he released his first album titled “Miyedzo”, which was followed by “Kure” in 2010 and “Agare”, which was released last year.
He is currently riding high with his latest single “Ndinoda Jesu”, which is doing well on the local charts and features a collaboration with Ncwane.
