Awarding-winning gospel musician Michael Mahendere last week  released a new song titled “My Time Has Come”, a collaboration he did with one of Nigeria’s finest musicians, Jimmy D Psalmist.

The Nigerian gospel star is known the world over for his hit track “Mighty Man of War”.

In an interview, Mahendere expressed his joy about his first duet with a Nigerian artiste.

“The collaboration is a wonderful declaration song that we did and I’m so grateful to God for it because it really speaks of what is about to happen in my life and in the lives of those who have been waiting on the fulfilment of the promises of God,” he said.

He recalls how he came up with the song after hearing a sermon by Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa.

“I remember sometime last year on a Tuesday evening in a church service my father, Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, repeated the words ‘Say My Time Has Come’ for more than 50 times, and immediately a tune and words came into my heart and I wrote this song.

“I also was given a scripture, 1Kings 18:41-46, when Prophet Elijah said I hear the sound of abundance rain,” said Mahendere.

The song was composed by Mahendere and he co-produced it with Nigel Nyangombe and was recorded at E-MAN-G Studios and was mixed at YourSound Studios.

The track is already available on Spotify, Orel Play, iTunes and Amazon.

The “ Makomborero” hit-maker said he got connected to Jimmy D Psalmist through his brother, Pastor Shacky Timburwa, in 2016 after listening to one of his songs and then met him in Tanzania last year.

Meanwhile, the two are working on the video and he thanked fans for their continual support.

“Our fans should look forward to a great video for this song which we are currently working on and it will be out very soon.

“We would like also to appreciate all of our family, friends and partners who give us amazing support all the way and for believing in our gift. You guys are the best in the universe,” said Mahendere.

The talented musician said he will drop an album soon which he describes as a Christmas present to his fans.

“Just before the year ends we will be releasing an album called ‘Classical Worship Volume 2’. Even with the way people are crying for it, I’m sure it’ll be a wonderful Christmas gift for them,” Mahendere said.

It carries songs like “Ndiye Mwari” and “Victory”.

Mahendere described 2018 as a success in terms of his musical career.

“This has been an amazing year for us, even our schedule and demand was so packed. We actually had to turn down many invitations because our time could not let us.

“It’s been a year which boosted ‘Getting Personal With God 3’ in a mighty way and we have been made to dominate new territories and God expanded us,” he said.

In the past Mahendere has done successful collabos with musicians like Janet Manyowa (“Muponesi”); Zimpraise (“Prayer for Zimbabwe”  and Loyiso Bala from South Africa (“Chiiko)”.
