Popular television personality Dr Rebecca Chisamba, popularly known as Mai Chisamba, has conveyed her condolences to the families of businessman Wicknell Chivayo, his wife Lucy Muteke, and three others who died in a helicopter crash last week.

Addressing mourners at Chivayo’s home in Gletwyn Park today, Dr Chisamba said the businessman’s family had allowed him to give to others as he wished, despite the influence friends and relatives can have on people’s generosity.

“Sometimes in life we fail to do the right thing because of friends and family who want to gatekeep our otherwise good deeds,” she said.

“But you, as a family, let him give to others as God allowed him to.”

Dr Chisamba said she stands with the Chivayos and Mutekes during their grief, offering them emotional support and prayers.

“I can see his relatives, brothers and sisters are here; we are together in this grief,” she said.

“We may not have material things to give you, but we give you our hearts so that God may comfort you. May their souls and the others who were involved in the accident rest in peace.”
