Mai TT: Turning Lemons into Lemonade

Lizzy Nekhoma, Online Reporter

SOCIAL media has become an integral part of modern-day society, allowing people to connect and share their experiences with the world.

However, it can also be a double-edged sword, as social media can quickly turn negative, especially when it comes to public figures.

One such figure is Mai TT, a Zimbabwean comedian and social media sensation, who has recently found herself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.

Mai TT (real name Felistas Murata) had social media on overdrive this past month after her nudes were leaked. She was referred to as rotten Maguru, and she had confidence that the violation was an act of “revenge” by her ex-husband and her former friend. However, instead of letting the negative comments and backlash break her, Mai TT used it to her advantage. She took those negative comments and turned them into a comedy, selling fresh Maguru (amalusu), which then made people laugh and brush off the negative thoughts.

Mai TT’s resilience and ability to turn lemons into lemonade are not limited to this situation. Recently, she appeared at the Harare Magistrates’ for sentencing after she was convicted of theft of trust property last week. Many people portrayed her as a liar, dishonest, abuser, thief, and untrustworthy. Despite all those negative comments from the court, it didn’t stop her from continuing to be who she is. Mai TT was spotted in Chikurubi Maximum in a jovial mood, having a party with her fellow friends in prison. The negative comments did not destroy her self-esteem. She is still able to stand in front of people and perform.

Mai TT’s ability to turn negative situations into positive ones is a testament to her character and strength. She has shown that even when things seem bleak, there is always a way to find the silver lining. Her resilience and positivity has become an inspiration to many.

Mai TT has shown that it is possible to turn lemons into lemonade, even in the most challenging situations. Her ability to remain positive and find humor in difficult situations is truly remarkable and inspiring. She has shown that with a little bit of resilience and creativity, one can overcome even the toughest of challenges.
