A KAROI man who broke into a house in broad daylight and stole bags of maize has been jailed for nearly a year.

Felix Pasi (23) was hauled before the Karoi Magistrates’ Court where he was convicted of unlawful entry in aggravating circumstances and slapped with an 11-month jail term.

According to the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ), who did not name the offender, the crime happened on 2 August 2025 in Kubatana high-density suburb at around 1PM.

“The offender broke the complainant’s front door, entered and stole 8x50kgs of shelled maize before vanishing undetected,” said the NPAZ.

The matter only came to light the following day when police interviewed a witness who revealed he had been hired by Pasi to ferry 3x50kgs of maize from the complainant’s homestead at the exact time of the offence.

Only three bags were recovered out of the total loot, worth US$120. The recovered property was valued at just US$45.
