MONEY transfer platform Click Send Now, has officially adopted the KwaNtuthu Comedy Festival, pledging financial support to ensure this year’s edition runs smoothly and efficiently.
Festival founder and director, Dumisani “MaForty” Ndlovu, revealed that the partnership was born from a commercial he filmed for the company last year, which paved the way for deeper collaboration.
“As a young festival, we’ve always faced financial challenges — both in running our programmes and compensating participants. After working on a commercial for Click Send Now last year, I approached them with our vision for KwaNtuthu. They embraced it wholeheartedly and committed to sponsoring our activities,” said MaForty.
The partnership promises a stronger 2025 edition of the festival, with resources directed towards producing high-quality stand-up comedy shows and short films.
“This year’s festival will take place from October 30 to November 1. As in previous years, we’ll focus on empowering students and helping them unlock their artistic potential. In past editions, we’ve collaborated with schools such as St John’s, Emerald Hill, King George VI Memorial School, Dominican Convent, Girls College, Sobukhazi, St Augustine’s and Mandwandwe High School. They all demonstrated great promise, and with proper investment in tools and props, their productions can reach even greater heights.
“Most of the Click Send Now sponsorship will be allocated to supporting the production of short films by these schools, which will be screened during the festival,” MaForty explained.
In an exciting development, the 2025 festival will also introduce a high school theatre competition, offering young performers another platform to showcase their creativity.
“Apart from reviving the stand-up comedy night, we’re launching a drama competition for schools. We encourage local schools to register and take part in this year’s programme,” MaForty said.
Speaking on behalf of Click Send Now, Blessing Nyoni expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, describing it as part of the company’s commitment to social responsibility.
“We’re passionate about supporting initiatives that celebrate community spirit. Partnering with KwaNtuthu feels natural because it reflects the energy and resilience of Zimbabwe’s youth. This festival not only entertains, but also uplifts and inspires the next generation of home-grown superstars.
“For us, this is more than sponsorship — it’s an investment in the future. By giving young people a stage to showcase their talent, the festival helps unlock creativity and opportunities they may never have imagined. We want young people to feel seen, supported and encouraged to pursue their ambitions, both on stage and in life,” said Nyoni.
