MAJUTA Mpofu, the former Bulawayo Wanderers and Highlanders dribbling wizard who died on Tuesday, will be buried at West Park tomorrow. This was confirmed by his younger brother and family spokesperson Morris yesterday. He said the finer details of the programme would be announced today as they were still consulting other stakeholders.

“His burial is set for Saturday at West Park. That is what we have resolved as a family. Most of the relatives have been informed and have arrived it’s only our father we are waiting for. We expect him tomorrow morning from home in Lupane,” said Morris yesterday.
Majuta died after a long illness.

In a career that saw him move between Bulawayo Wanderers and Highlanders between 1974 and 1982, Majuta endeared himself with soccer fans countrywide because of his dribbling skills.

He is regarded as one of the country’s brilliant footballers but unfortunately he did not realise his full potential due to many factors that included work commitments.

Mpofu (63) is survived by his wife and five children.
