MAKANDA BLOW FOR GLAMOUR BOYS

DYNAMOS assistant coach, Genesis Mangombe has ruled out striker Tinashe Makanda from their battle against Simba Bhora on Saturday.

Makanda, who netted the club’s first goal of the season in a 1-0 win over Hwange, was stretchered off the pitch in a 4-0 win over Sheasham last weekend.

He replaced Diego Musiyiwa in the 52nd minute, but only lasted six minutes after suffering his injury.

The Glamour Boys fans painted the capital blue-and-white last weekend and the club’s leaders believe there will be more fans at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.

DeMbare regrouped yesterday at Alex Sports Club, but the industrious forward watched from the stands.

“We resumed training and the report which we had from our medical team is not good enough to include him in our weekend’s game,” said Mangombe.

“He is a hardworking player and, obviously, he would want to start training with the rest of the guys but we are not going to make rushed decisions.

“We are going to give him all the time he needs to get to his best and I’m sure next week we will be in a position to see if he is ready for action.”

The Glamour Boys are facing the prospect of playing without their new forward, Jayden “JB” Barake, as they await the nod from PSL.

Dynamos have now scored five goals in two matches, but the club’s new forwards — Nyasha Chintuli and Elie Ilunga — are still to hit the target.

Mangombe also blamed his men for being complacent on their weekend’s win.

“We won, but our performance was not up to scratch. The boys were carried away after those four goals,” he said.

“We lost control of the game and our opponents became dominant, forcing us to play like we were the ones who were chasing the game.

“It’s something which our players need to avoid because they all wanted to excite our fans, which is good, but it should be done in a tactical way.”
