United Family International Church (UFIC) founder Emmanuel Makandiwa has applauded the First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa for having a heart for the less-privileged members of society.
Speaking to thousands of congregants who attended UFIC services on Sunday, Makandiwa said it took a special heart for one to be concerned about the plight of the disadvantaged.
“We appreciate what the First Lady is doing,” he said.
“She is doing great work indeed. We have all seen her visit hospitals and orphans as she seeks solutions to their problems.”
In appreciation of the First Lady’s initiative, wife to Makandiwa, Ruth Makandiwa gave $300 000 towards the Angels of Hope Foundation launched by Amai Mnangagwa last Saturday.
Makandiwa and the Prophetess attended the launch ceremony.
Makandiwa’s wife also has a passion for the less privileged, hence her eagerness to partner the First Lady on a mission to transform lives.
She runs the UFIC charity arm, Agape Family Care, through which she has helped thousands of widows and orphans, prisoners and other less privileged members of society in the country and beyond.
“She has always had this passion to help,” said Makandiwa about his wife.
“She runs many projects to support the needy and she does it with all her heart. She thinks charity and charity all the time.”
The First Lady’s Angels of Hope Foundation’s main thrust is to transform the lives of disadvantaged children and other vulnerable members of society. Its board chair is Mrs Chipo Mtasa, one of the most prominent business executives in Zimbabwe.
“The Angel of Hope Foundation is about standing up and taking responsibility for our nation’s future as the core of our activities is the commitment to create a better future for our children irrespective of gender, race, religion, tribe or economic status,” said the First Lady.
