Make a date with Huggies

IF you are one of those blokes looking for a place to hang out with friends and have a great time as you reminisce on the good old days then look no further, Huggies Entertainment is where it all happens. Beginning tonight, Huggies Entertainment -vwho are the leading old skool music DJs – have lined up massive gigs right through to Sunday where they wrap up the weekend festivities with Tshisa Nyama at ZimCafe Hotel and Conference Centre as revellers indulge in the best BBQ in town done by chefs.

But to start off the party session prepare your dancing shoes and take a back seat as Huggies Entertainment take you on a fantastic voyage of non-stop thumping music until the early hours of the morning.

The DJs on rotation will be none other than the legendary Kudzi “Mr Kool” Marudza, Witness “Chuman” Matema, Ronald “D-Train” Chiwanza, DJ Frankie, Candy and Dee Blaze.

But that is not all, as this weekend the party will feature the talents of Rumbi “Lady of Distinction” Moyo back to back with Tendai “The Sweet Thang” Chakanyuka who are collectively known as “Girl Power”.

The party don’t stop there as Mr Kool will share the turntables with DJ Dee Blaze at ZimCafe Restaurant today before joining the rest of Huggies Entertainment tomorrow at the hotel.

Those who love yesteryear music will have enough dosage courtesy of Mr Kool who has been running the show on Power FM since the 1980s. There is no doubt fans will be eating from his palms with a cool mix of old and freshest sound.

Once he takes charge of the turntables you know it will be non-stop partying. Ever wondered why he is that good on the deck? Well it’s simple. He has been there and done that dating back to the 1970s, 1980s to the 1990s.

While Mr Kool’s act will be spiced up by Dee Blaze at the ZimCafe Restaurant those who will turn up at the hotel will be treated to something special by Chuman, D-Train, DJ Frankie and Candy as well as the “Girl Power”.

Also a veteran in her own right, “The Sweet Thang” continues to wow audiences with her swift delivery on the decks. Most of the songs on her playlist will be pure soul and RnB as well as groovy laid-back hits which fans loved and enjoyed in the golden old days.

The same goes with “The Lady of Distinction” who rocks the dance floor as much as she does on the turntables. She loves music and she knows how to dance you should see her when she gets on the floor. Oops she can twerk!

But somehow things will be done differently when Chuman and D-Train take turns to spin the hits.
D-Train is a class of his own and he is a joy to listen to. His music taste appeals to mature and trendy audience who patronise the joint.

Chuman, who is also a well-known jazz aficionado, will be mixing things up on the decks playing rare grooves and true RnB on Sunday during the Tshisa Nyama. Always steady on the bass, Chuman brings the music just the way you like it.

Expect to hear music by Soul II Soul, Lisa Lisa, Teddy Riley, Keith Sweat, R Kelly and many more from the old days.
Burzil Mafukidze, the F & B manager at ZimCafe Hotel, urged fans to come and enjoy Sunday’s Tshisa Nyama slot.

“The entertainment is meant to excite the mature crowd and I believe those who are going to come will have their money’s worth. We have had these Tshisa Nyamas for the past month and the response has been great. Make a date with us,” he said.
