DYNAMOS midfielder, Ralph Kawondera, says he is keen to get his hands on the Chibuku Super Cup, for the third time, in his career.
He is also vying for the silverware with a third different club.
The Castle Lager Premiership fixtures will pave the way for the Chibuku Super Cup quarter-finals this weekend.
The Glamour Boys welcome high-flying FC Platinum.
Kawondera’s competition fairytale began in 2018, when he helped Triangle to land the trophy after edging Harare City.
Last season, he took home the medal of honour, with his former employers, FC Platinum.
Interestingly, he is now on the flip side of the coin and has been one of Dynamos’ better players.
“It’s always sweet to face your former paymasters, those are the most interesting fixtures for any player.
“There are no two ways about it, when you are playing for Dynamos, you are expected to win everything that comes your way.
“We haven’t given up on the Premiership race, but we have full control of our destiny in the Chibuku Super Cup,” said Kawondera
He added:
“I’m happy to have played and won the finals of the last two editions of the competition.
“But, it doesn’t give us any assurance that success is certain when we play FC Platinum at the weekend.
“We need to be excellent in all the departments, and everyone needs to put in 100 percent, if we are serious about progressing to the next stage.
“We have enough quality to go toe-to-toe with them.
“But, Cup games are a bit tricky. You also need a bit of luck.”
Dynamos were knocked out of last season’s competition by the same side in the semi-finals.
It was Innocent Mucheneka’s well-struck free-kick, which made the difference, in the dying minutes.
Since then, they have met twice in the league and their fixtures have lacked fireworks.
