But what really is a right choice? If we make more than a dozen of choices daily then what is it that makes one choice, “the choice”?
Well, the answer is simple. In the multitudes of situations we face and the numerous choices we have to make there are few choices which determine the direction life is going to take or generally paint the outlook of your life.
Take life as a journey, as the cliché says. Even when navigating the straightest paths and easiest paths in the journey one still has to make choices.
Such simple choices like the speed to travel with and when to drive off the road, on to the roadside and rest at the lay-bye points. Obviously, these choices have to be made but they do not change the destination.
However, there are very crucial choices which will determine the destination of the journey. These choices are usually presented at the junctions where the choice one makes will determine the direction the journey takes and also dictate the destination. The choice that determines the destination is the one referred to as “the choice”.
Borrowing from our analogy of life to a journey we will realise that the power of the right choice takes you to the right destination. As such one needs to be aware of the power of the right choice.
In order to reap benefits from the power of the right choice it is important that one is able to discern the crossroads or junctions of life where the choices they make at that point will fix the destination of their lives. When standing at such crossroads one needs to realise that business does not carry on as usual, there is need for serious considerations before one arrives at such a choice.
However, the critical question is how does one make the right choice? Well, for starters the choice at crossroads is determined by the intended destination.
Knowing the destination is solving half the problem. This means that if one does not know where they intend to arrive they should not embark on any journey at all unless they intend to go on a journey to kill time.
Those who have a keen sense of where they are going find it very easy to make the right choice, while those with a blurry and vague idea of where they are going find it hard to make the right choice.
Therefore, it follows that those who know where they want their life to take them have solved half the problem. Knowing where you want to go in life in terms of academics, career, marriage, spirituality and some other crucial areas of life is solving half your problem.
Knowing the destination is solving half the problem, but there is also need to observe and look out for journey signs. When on the highway moving from point A to point B, you will find road direction signs that help you navigate your way especially near junctions or crossroads so that you find it easy to navigate your way to your destination. All you need is to look for the signs and follow them. The same happens in our lives.
Once you know where you want to go look out for the signs you need to take you to where you want to go. Sight is very important so that you are able to easily navigate your path. As you live your life you will have to look for the signs that point to your destination. At times all you need to look because the writing will be on the wall for you to just see and take the required action.
Using the highway example, most direction signs will have the distance to the destination. This will help inform the speed you need to travel with to arrive at the time you intend. The same signs will be available in our life on our various life paths.
When you make the right choice, you will see that everything else falls into place. The road ahead will usually be a straight path until you arrive at the next decision point.
Whoever you are, whatever you do, never estimate the power of the right choice in bringing you success.
