Makonde Rural District Council expects to rehabilitate most of its major roads by April this year after receiving its roads funding allocations from the Zimbabwe National Roads Authority. In an interview recently, Makonde RDC engineer Mr Maynard Nyikadzino said the local authority was targeting to have repaired several culverts within the 100 days set by Government. He said some of the roads would be tarred while there are also plans to construct new ones.

“We have got several culverts that need to be repaired as our target for the 100 days and we also expect to do tar patching across the district,” he said.

Mr Nyikadzino said council was going to build a bridge and do repairs to another one in the district.
