AB Communications, owners of ZiFM Stereo and television production company Mighty Movies, has appointed Ms Susan Makore as its new chief executive following the stepping down of Cde Supa Mandiwanzira.Cde Mandiwanzira stepped down following his appointment as Deputy Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services.
Ms Makore was previously managing director of Mighty Movies. She is one of the country’s leading women in media with extensive experience in broadcasting and over 15 years experience in the media, mostly the broadcast industry.
She is a former lecturer in the University of Zimbabwe’s English and Media Studies Department. Ms Makore was also the chief executive of Zimbabwe television from 2003 to 2006. She sits on various boards, among them the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe, Financial Gazette and the Women’s University in Africa.
