Malaika expected back today

beauty was picked as the first princess of the coveted beauty contest held last week in Dortmund, Germany.
Malaika first did the nation proud by becoming one of the top 10 most beautiful ladies in the Miss World pageant that was held in London last year.
Malaika, which means “angel” in Kiswahili, was one of the 45 ladies drawn from around the world at a contest which becomes her last international before she hands the national crown to the next Miss Zimbabwe winner expected to be unveiled on March 24.
Mushandu began her career in modelling when she participated in the Miss Models Extravaganza in 2009, which she clinched and also represented the country at the Miss Southern Africa contest.
She was first discovered by Mercy Mushaninga, a former model, who now runs an agency called Zim Gossip.
Although she went to Germany with the hope of clinching the title, the second spot in the contest has defined happiness for modelling fanatics and the nation alike, who  last tasted modelling glory back in 2001 when Brita Masalethulini was tops in the Miss Malaika beauty contest.
