adminHealth and Child Welfare showed that 15 138 cases were recorded in the week which ended on February 17 down from a high of about 23 000 cases at the beginning of the month.
Although cases in Manicaland and Mashonaland West provinces are beginning to go down, the provinces still have more people with malaria compared to other provinces.
“The provinces which reported the highest number of malaria cases were Manicaland, accounting for 9 149 and Mashonaland West 1 847 of overall recorded cases,” reads part of the country’s weekly epidemiological report.
When the Manicaland cases peaked at the beginning of the month, about 16 951 cases were reported in one week.
