Malawian national jumps off moving bus

Malawi from Johannesburg at the 195km peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda road.
Acting Mashonaland East Province police spokesperson Sergeant Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident.
“It is alleged that Kadamanja was aboard a Scania Marcopolo cross-border bus, registration number MC4368. The bus was coming from Johannesburg enroute to Malawi with 34 passengers on board.

“As it approached the 195km peg along the Harare-Nyamapanda road, Kadamanja allegedly stood up from his seat and proceeded to the back seat where he grabbed a satellite dish mounting and broke the rear windscreen,” said Sgt Mwanza.

Another passenger tried to stop Kadamanja but he jumped off the moving bus through the broken windscreen and died on the spot when he hit the tarmac.

Sgt Mwanza said that some passengers alerted the driver who stopped the bus and a report was made at Nyamapanda Police who attended the scene. The body was taken to Kotwa Hospital for a postmortem.
