MALAYSIA has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Zimbabwe through increased cooperation at international forums.
Speaking at the 67th Malaysian National Day celebration Malaysian Embassy Charge d’Affaires in Harare Mr Aniff Fauzi said bilateral relations between Malaysia and Zimbabwe have been warm and friendly.
The event, held under the theme “Malaysia Madani: Jiwa Merdeka” (Independent Soul), emphasised unity among Malaysia’s diverse communities and promoted a deeper sense of patriotism.
“Malaysia and Zimbabwe have enjoyed warm and friendly relations, further consolidated through collaboration in international organisations such as the United Nations and the Non-Aligned Movement,” said Mr Fauzi.

“Trade between the two countries has also seen significant growth. In 2023, Zimbabwe became Malaysia’s 39th largest trading partner in Africa, with total trade reaching US$7,24 million and this marked a substantial increase of 144 percent compared to the previous year.
“Major exports from Malaysia to Zimbabwe include chemicals, electronics, machinery, and agricultural products, while Zimbabwe primarily exports agricultural produce and fertilizers to Malaysia.”
The Malaysian National Day celebration served as a reminder of the country’s independence and the unity among its people.
The embassy also hosted a reception to celebrate the occasion, offering guests a taste of Malaysian cuisine, a reflection of the country’s rich cultural heritage.
