MODEL Omar Qassim Kaisi is on cloud nine after publishing his first book titled “A Long Way to Go Can’t Die Now Volume 1.”
This book reflects on his life experiences and is driven by resilience and unwavering faith in God.
Omar’s journey has not been without challenges.
He had to deal with the profound loss of his mother, which had a significant impact on him.
Taking time to grieve and heal, he refrained from producing any work for a year, allowing himself to reconnect with reality and further develop his craft.
This period of introspection eventually led him to fully express himself in his book, “A Long Way To Go Can’t Die Now.”
“As the youngest ‘model writer’, people in the industry will constantly put ceilings on your growth and I am living proof that a narrative driven by God and resilience can’t be stopped.
“What inspires me is life, being able to break through ceilings and finding fulfilment in my craft has always been something that inspires me to be great not only for me but for my siblings and the youth.
“Attaining full mastery in my craft as a model, writer and creative director is a journey I’ve been on for the past three years now.
“As a model, I have managed to collaborate with a handful of amazing brands like Push Athletics, Intricate Lifestyle and Juvenile Glide,” he told H-Metro.
As a writer, his book was published by Plus Verbs Publishers in South Africa, with guidance from mentor, Ray Chemvura.
He has also directed visual media for the non-governmental organisation, The Islamic Information Bureau Trust.
