Man (29) steals money from grandmother (82)

A BEITBRIGDE MAN (29) was sentenced to eight months in jail for stealing R70 000 and US$600 cash from his grandmother (82).

In a statement, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe said the incident occurred between 21 and 28 April when Douglas Rosewell Ncube robbed his grandmother who is a traditional healer.

“The matter was reported to the Police and investigations led to the arrest of the accused person.”

“He was sentenced to 22 months imprisonment of which 6 months were suspended. A further 8 months was suspended on condition that the accused person pays restitution. He will serve 8 months effectively”.
