A MAN from Fort Rixon in Matabeleland South province failed to control his insatiable appetite for sex when he allegedly raped and infected a seven-year-old girl with a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI) before he threatened to cut off her head.
While oblivious of any danger that could befall her as the girl was walking along a footpath heading to school, Fally Mkhwananzi emerged from the bush and grabbed her before threatening to chop-off her head with an axe, the court heard.
It is said he covered her face with a hat before he dragged her into a nearby bush where he reportedly once again threatened to behead her and sexually attacked her.
After the sexual attack the minor girl left for her home and never disclosed the ordeal to anyone.
On the following day she felt itchy while she was urinating and her mother rushed her to Gweru Hospital where it was discovered that she had been infected with an STI.
Her mother quizzed her and that is when she revealed that she was raped by Mkhwananzi.
The incident was reported to the police leading to his arrest.
Mkhwananzi appeared before Bulawayo regional magistrate Vivian Ndlovu facing a rape charge and pleaded not guilty to the charge.
He was remanded in custody to 25 January.
Ndlovu advised him to apply for bail at the High Court.
