IN a disturbing act of child sexual abuse, a 50-year-old man from Bulawayo has been arrested for allegedly indecently assaulting his neighbour’s four-year-old daughter before he unashamedly complimented her saying her private parts were so “appealing”.
This was heard when Zenzo Sibanda appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa facing an indecent assault charge. He pleaded guilty to the charge and was remanded to Tuesday for sentencing.
The court heard that sometime in July last year, Sibanda met the victim and her mother at a local bar while he was drinking. The young girl, who was eating sadza, innocently offered some to Sibanda.
He then ordered the victim to meet him behind the shops, and she, in her innocence, complied. When she reached the shops’ back, Sibanda grabbed her and shoved her against the wall. He then undressed her and started playing sexual acts on her.
As if that was not enough, he went on to tell the victim that her privates were so appealing. While Sibanda was busy caressing the victim, he was spotted by the girl’s 10-year-old neighbour who went on to report the matter to the victim’s mother.
The matter was reported to the police and investigations were carried out leading to the arrest of Sibanda.
