A 90-year-old man, who stays at Dandaro Village, lost US$16 000 to three robbers who gained entry into his home on Sunday.

Michael George woke up at around midnight and found three men in his house.

They stuffed a cloth into his mouth and tied his hands and legs before ransacking the house.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case saying Michael sustained a swollen right jaw and bruises on both his hands and legs.

He was referred to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical examination.

“The complainant was asleep in his bedroom when three men jumped a precast wall to gain entry into his yard,” said Insp Chakanza.

“They ransacked the house and took an envelope containing US$16 000 from the complainant’s home,” said Insp Chakanza.
