A MAN from Mutorashanga, who was arrested for beastiality, told the court that he abused the goat because he was ordered to do that by a traditional healer.
Takunda Garufu, 23, appeared before a Chinhoyi magistrate, Ruth Tshuma, charged with bestiality.
Garufu was asked why he abused the goat and he said he was simply following instructions given to him by a traditional healer.
The matter was postponed to April 25, for trial.
Prosecuting, Irene Mapfumo, told the court that on April 8, at around 10 pm, at Tafara in Mutorashanga, Garufu went to Ngonidzashe Mhloro’s goat pen.
Garufu sneaked into the pen and abused a goat.
Mhloro heard the noise and he went outside to investigate.
He found Garufu abusing the goat.
Mhloro called his wife to witness the scene.
He then grabbed Garufu by his jacket and reported the case to the police.
Garufu was arrested.
