SOME Mbare Beatrice Cottage houses have been turned into brothels.
About 15 houses, along Mbirimi Street, have been converted into nests for love birds.
They pay amounts ranging from US$2 during week and US$3 during the weekend.
The rates are for 30 minute bookings.
One of the residents expressed concern.
“We are appealing for local authorities to come and put an end to these brothels.
“Land owners must be arrested for fooling law enforcers and operating these brothels.
“What is shocking is that a police vehicle patrols the area and they appear to negotiate with the touts.
“Our daughters are being lured into these brothels as well as married women,” he said.
When H-Metro visited the neighbourhood, the touts said there were a number of available rooms.
They even claimed competition was tough the price for bookings could even be halved to US$1 but only for a few minutes.
A Stodart Police Station truck passed by but did not appear to scare the touts.
