A 46-year-old man has been arrested in Bulawayo for allegedly driving a truck while under the influence of alcohol.
In a statement on its social media platforms, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) said Nkosilathi Ngwenya was arrested on October 22, 2026, along Masiyephambili Road.
Ngwenya was driving a UD truck when police stopped him and subjected him to a breathalyser test, which reportedly showed that he had an excessive level of alcohol in his blood.
The police have repeatedly urged motorists to avoid driving under the influence of alcohol, warning that impaired driving puts the lives of drivers, passengers and other road users at risk.
