TWO sisters aged 12 and 13 have been subjected to sexual abuse by a relative since 2024.

Tafadzwa Mabharani, 22, would allegedly sneak into their bedroom whenever one of the sisters was away.

Tafadzwa threatened the sisters separately, warning them against disclosing the rape.

On Sunday, the two sisters received a sermon shared at their church concerning rape cases involving relatives.

Upon going home, the two shared their abuse and realised that he had been raping them separately.

They disclosed the rape to their mother leading to the arrest of Tafadzwa.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the arrest urging parents and guardians to closely monitor their children.

“Police are investigating rape cases involving learners in Grade 6 and 7,” said Insp Chakanza.

“The complainants are sisters, and the accused person is their uncle.

“On an unknown date and month in the year 2024, during the day, accused person returned home and discovered that one of the complainants was alone.

“He took her into his spare bedroom where he locked the door from inside and raped her without protection.

“After the rape, he ordered the complainant not to disclose the abuse to anyone and she complied.

“On another unknown date and month during the same year, in the evening, the same complainant was asleep in the dining room.

“Accused came out from his spare bedroom and raped her.

“On March 30, 2025, at around 8pm, the second complainant retired to bed alone in her grandmother’s bedroom and accused person followed and raped her without protection.

“On March 31, 2025, and at around 10.30pm, the second complainant was asleep in her grandmother’s room alone and accused raped her once again without protection.

On April 13, 2025, at around 1pm while coming from church, the two complainants discussed the abuse and decided to disclose the matter to their mother.

“On arrival at their place of residence, they disclosed the abuses to their mother leading to the arrest of the suspects.

“The two complainants were escorted to Chitungwiza Central Hospital where they were medically examined,” said Insp Chakanza.
