Man arrested for selling beer to minors denied bail

The Mbare man accused of selling beer to minors on Christmas Day has been denied bail.

Phaeteon Mutiyaya, 23, appeared at Mbare Magistrates Court on Thursday.

He is expected back in court on January 11 for a possible trial date.

Mutiyaya, who runs a shebeen in Mbare, allegedly sold beer to 11 minors who were captured in a viral video drinking in Harare CBD.

Three minors are aged 7, three aged 10, and three others aged 5, 9, and 11.

They’re all residents at Nenyere Flats in Mbare.
