Man arrested with 2kg of dagga

A 45 year old man has been arrested in Beitbridge after he was caught with 2kgs of dagga that was reportedly smuggled into the country.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Police said Mthokozisi Ndebele (45) had a red and black satchel with a dagga wrapped in a plastic bag.

Police arrested the suspect on Monday while they were deployed at the Condep checkpoint.

“On 02/10/23, members of the police deployed on operation ‘No to Cross Boarder Crimes’ in Beitbridge arrested Mthokozisi Ndebele (45) in connection with unlawful possession of dagga weighing 2 kilograms.”

“The dagga was wrapped in a plastic bag and stashed in a red and black satchel when the police searched the suspect at the Condep checkpoint,” reads the statement.
