Man arrested with unlicensed gun during heated fight with omakorokoza

A MAN was arrested for possessing a pistol without a certificate by police deployed on operation “No to machete gangs/Chikorokoza Ngachipere/ Isitsheketsha Kasiphele.”

In a statement on X, police said they arrested Leeward Chawata (24) on Saturday while he was fighting with some artisanal miners.

“On 16/12/23, members of the Police deployed on operation, “No to machete gangs/Chikorokoza Ngachipere/ Isitsheketsha Kasiphele,” at Jumbo Mine, Mazowe arrested Leeward Chawata (24) for possession of a pistol without a certificate.”

“The suspect was arrested while fighting with some artisanal miners,” reads the statement.
