A HARARE man is fighting for his life after he was stoned by a security guard, and his son, for wearing his political party T-shirt.

Dosman Piko was badly injured after Gilmond David, and his 14-year-old son, struck him with bricks for wearing party regalia.

David ordered Piko to remove the T-shirt and he refused.

Later on, Piko met David’s son, who confronted him and asked why he was still wearing the T-shirt.

The son then kicked Piko, who fell to the ground.

He picked up a brick, which he used to strike Piko several times, on his face.

David then joined his son in the attack.

He picked another brick, which he used to strike Piko on the head, while also kicking him in the chest.

David appeared before magistrate Dennis Mangosi, charged with assault, and was remanded out of custody to next month.

Zororai Nkomo appeared for the State.
