A BULAWAYO polygamist bit his second wifeas cheek because she was a?outrighta? lazy.

Philip Muradzikwa (56) on arrival at the coupleas flat from visiting his first wife was in a no-nonsense mood. He complained about his young wife Sibusisiwe Mpofu (32)as habit of not spreading the bed comparing her to the a?biga? house where the bed was neatly prepared.

Mpofu didnat like the way Muradzikwa was talking and she spoke back and a harsh exchange of words ensued.

Mpofu told him that he was not man enough and he responded with a cheek bite. She reported the matter to the police, leading to his arrest.

Appearing before magistrate Tinashe Tashaya, Muradzikwa said he was tired of Mpofuas laziness and decided to address the issue but his wife took his comment as an insult.

a?Your worship, I was only trying to correct her but she got angry and we ended up fighting,a? said Muradzikwa.

He pleaded guilty and told the court that he acted out of anger as his wife had insulted him about his manhood and also grabbed his private parts.

a?She told me Iam not man enough and grabbed my private parts, I couldnat bear the pain and the only way I could make her stop was to bite her on the cheek,a? he added.

Mpofu was remanded out of custody to 09 January 2016.
