Juliet Mudyariwa is a woman walking on a rough patch and her marriage has been a bed of thorns.
Juliet, who dragged her husband Trymore Mudyariwa, a police officer to court said her husband torments her as he allegedly brings his girlfriends to their matrimonial home and the situation troubles their little children.
She said whenever they are involved in arguments Trymore bashes her and hurls insults at her. Juliet through her lawyer said she has been subjected to heart-rending abuse as her husband takes to social media to insult her and that has wrecked her reputation.
She said when they argue her husband would beat her up while at times he would chuck her out of the house and order her to find a home to stay.
Trymore, through his lawyer denied accusations levelled against him but did not oppose the application of the protection order.
The magistrate, Challenge Mahembe, granted Juliet a protection order. The order prevents Trymore from verbally and physically abusing his wife. He was also ordered to stop cyberbullying her.
Meanwhile, Juliet applied for a maintenance order to grant her the right to be given US$170 per month for the upkeep of their two minor children.
Her lawyer said Trymore has failed to take care of his minor children. The lawyer said he has not consistently and wilfully paid for the school fees of their minor children.
“To prove that he is an irresponsible father he has not yet paid school fees for their 18-year-old child, as such the child has not yet collected the results,” said Juliet’s lawyer.
Trymore through his lawyer said he cannot afford US$170 as maintenance, saying all his salary was gobbled by a loan.
“Your worship my client currently earns US$17 and 1700 Zig. The bulk of his salary is gobbled by the loan he took to purchase building material to build a house,” he said.
The lawyer added: “He (Trymore) promises not to take any loan in the future and denies being an irresponsible father. His marriage with his wife has deteriorated because of adultery and trust issues.”
The presiding magistrate Challenge Mahembe granted Juliet a maintenance order which prescribes that Trymore has to pay US$100 every month.
