TWO men from Bulawayo have appeared in court for allegedly pushing the complainant into a Honda Fit they were driving and robbed him his cellphone Samsung A33, his wallet containing cash US$45.00 and drivers licence at a knifepoint.
Raphael Chiwande (23) from Pelandaba suburb and Thembelihle Sibanda (22) from Iminyela suburb appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Archie Wochiwunga, facing robbery charges.
They were remanded in custody until August 19 for trial.
According to prosecutor Mr Tafara Dzimbanhete, the incident occurred on June 29 2025 at around 9 pm.
Meluleki Ngwenya (31) was walking home along B. Burombo Road in Njube when Sibanda and Chiwande who were driving a Honda Fit, stopped the car and pushed Ngwenya inside the vehicle, said Mr Dzimbanhete.
While inside the Honda Fit, one of the accused persons produced a knife and pointed it at Ngwenya’s back demanding cash and his valuables.
Ngwenya surrendered his wallet which contained US$45.00 cash, his driver’s licence and his Samsung A33 cellphone.
After robbing Ngwenya the accused persons pushed him out of the vehicle and drove off.
The value of the stolen property is $165.00 and $120.00 was recovered.
