A HARARE man is in the habit of sending thugs to assault his ex-wife in a bid to force her to withdraw a maintenance order, the Civil Court heard yesterday.

Anna Madumera told magistrate Mrs Barbra Mateko that Innocent Homodza was making her life miserable as he no longer wants to maintain their six-year old child. Madumera sought a protection order against Homodza.

“I am living in fear of losing my life because he is sending thugs to force me to withdraw my maintenance order and these thugs are even threatening to kill me if I fail to give in to their orders,” she said.

Madumera claimed Homodza visits her parents’ house and threatens terror.

She pleaded with Mrs Mateko to grant her application. Homodza denied the allegations. He said Madumera denies him access to his child.

“We are having problems because she denies me access to my own child, yet I was granted an application for access by this same court,” he said.

Mrs Mateko granted the order in Madumera’s favour.
