A Harare man accused his wife of visiting his workplace willy-nilly to cause chaus and applied for a protection order against her.

However, Raymond Mahachi’s bid for a protection order against his wife, Nyasha Jowa, was dismissed by magistrate Tamra Chibindi for lack of merit.

Nyasha told the court that she goes to his workplace to ask him to accompany her to acquire a birth certificate for their five-year-old child.

Magistrate Chibindi advised Nyasha to go and get a birth certificate even without the father since he is being irresponsible.

“She comes to my workplace unannounced, causing havoc. I do not want her to come to my workplace or place of residence,” Raymond told the court.

Nyasha said her husband was not being honest.

“I do not oppose, but these are all lies. He is even lying about me being his ex-girlfriend, when l am actually his wife and currently staying with his mother. He left for another woman,” said Nyasha.

She also said she wants him to be responsible.

“I went to his workplace because I wanted him to accompany me to go and get a birth certificate for our child.

“We were always fighting that’s why l moved out. Whenever I inquired about his girlfriend or why he posted her, he would assault me.”
