A 23-year-old Eastview man dropped and killed his baby while chasing after his wife in a case of domestic violence on Monday.

Collins Tafadzwa Dzonga had a misunderstanding with his wife, Abigail Siyawadyara (19), and started assaulting her.

She fled to her mother’s house, leaving her three-month-old baby, Skyller Dzonga, behind.

Collins grabbed the baby and ran after Abigail. The baby slipped from his hands and fell headlong onto the ground and died.

This led to Collins’ arrest.

Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, said Collins was facing a murder charge, and is expected to appear in court soon.
