Man drowns in swimming pool

A 21-year-old man was over the weekend found dead in a swimming at a house in Highlands, Harare.
The man Wayne Kudakwashe Gamble is believed to have drowned. Police have since launched investigations into the case while they are waiting for post-mortem results.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident.

“The ZRP is investigating a suspected case of drowning in which Wayne Kudakwashe Gamble (21) was found dead in a swimming pool at a house along Tedder Road, Highlands on September 29, 2024,” he said.

“The victim had attended a party with former schoolmates at the house when the tragic incident occurred. The body was taken to Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary for post-mortem,” he said.

Meanwhile, police in Harare are also investigating a case in which a man was found dead at a substation along Zidube Ranch Battle Street, Harare on September 28, 2024.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim tampered with a copper wire which caused a short circuit.
