Man fined for assaulting wife after she refused to leave beer hall

A 39-year-old Bindura man was fined $5 000 by a Bindura magistrate after assaulting his wife Norest Pokelo Sande for refusing to leave a beer hall.

Abel Musape pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges when he appeared before magistrate Mr Tinashe Ndokera who fined him $5 000 or 30 days in prison.

Musape and his wife reside at Fullers compound in Bindura. Circumstances are that on September 15 this year at around 5pm the couple was at a local beer hall when Musape who was already drunk asked Tawanda Kazembe to summon his wife.

He instructed Norest to go home and she refused. He tripped her to the ground and she fell in a pit, Musape was restrained by other imbibers and his wife filed a police report.
