Man fined for taking lover (15) for sleepover

A 23-YEAR-OLD Rusape man appeared before the Nyanga magistrate after taking his 15-year-old lover to his home without the guardian’s permission.

In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said on 30 June the accused person proposed love to a 15-year-old and she accepted. The accused person took the complainant from her place of residence to his home on 6 July without the consent of the juvenile’s guardian.

“The matter was reported to the Police on 7 July and the 15-year-old was found in the accused person’s custody at his home. The accused pleaded guilty to the charges and was sentenced to a fine of US$200, in default three month’s imprisonment,” said NPAZ
