A 26-YEAR-OLD Nkayi man was fined US$300 or six months in prison for unlawful possession of dagga at Khalanyoni Business Centre in Inyathi, Bubi District.
Khulisani Masuku was convicted on his own plea of guilty to contravening Section 157(1)(a) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act, Chapter 9:23, which criminalises the unlawful possession or use of dangerous drugs, by Inyathi resident magistrate Mr Challenge Mahembe .
He was also sentenced to a further six months’ imprisonment, wholly suspended for five years on condition that he does not commit a similar offence during the period of suspension.

Jotham Phugeni, who were separately charged.
The detectives became suspicious and approached the trio before identifying themselves and explaining the purpose of their patrol.
