A Harare man shocked the gallery last week in court after he failed to state the exact ages of his two minor children.
Hillary Munjodzi appeared before magistrate Ayanda Dhlamini where his ex-wife, Fiona Madondo, dragged him demanding $100 000 maintenance for their two children.
Hillary offered $40 000 saying that Fiona stays in a company house and did not pay any bills and that she and the children were on medical aid.
“I am renting and pay US$180. I also have another child who is in Form 1 and I pay US$80 school fees. I also look after my mother who is divorced.”
Fiona turned down the offer.

“The children need US$50 per term for fees. He was ordered to pay fees, but he does not and I am forced to pay since l am the one staying with them and cannot watch them being chased from school,” she said.
She said he had never done anything for his children.
“He has never done or bought anything for the children, even a single pair of socks plus the ages he said are wrong.
‘‘The children are not aged eight and four, but nine and six.”
Magistrate Dhlamini ordered Hillary to pay $50 000 and buy clothes three times a year.
