Man found dead with stab wounds at Chigumira shopping Centre

Community members in Bulawayo’s Luveve suburb woke up to a shocking sight of a man who was allegedly stabbed to death and dumped a few metres from a sports bar.

The incident was reported to the police and was confirmed by Bulawayo Provincial Police Spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube.

“We confirm that a man was found dead a few meters from a Sports bar situated at Chigumira shopping center. We are appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information may contact any nearest police station,” he said.

Insp Ncube also appealed to the community members who could have a missing person to approach Mpilo Central Hospital.

“Anyone who is missing a male relative can approach Mpilo Central Hospital for body identification,” he said.

A source close to the incident said the owner of Katso Sports bar, Lameck Katso saw a body of an unknown man lying next to his bar and moved closer to it.

“Katso discovered that the man was unconscious and immediately reported the incident at Luveve Police Station. Police swiftly dashed to the scene and noticed that the man was unconscious and had sustained two stab wounds in the neck and a deep cut on the shoulder,” said the source.

Soon after that an ambulance was called to the scene and transported the man to Mpilo Central Hospital. Upon checking him a doctor certified him dead.
