Man gets 2 life terms

in jail.
Brighton Mafanedza (29) who was employed as a gardener by the couple at Cumberland in Thabazimbi, Limpopo Province, was convicted by the High Court in Bela Bela and sentenced to two life sentences, which is equivalent to 50 years, in a South African jail.

The court heard that sometime in December 2010, Mafanedza stabbed Jeremiah Aucamp (55) and his wife, Magdeline Dorosha (52) with a knife.

The couple had just returned to its farmhouse from Rustenburg, where they had gone for Christmas shopping when Mafanedza attacked them.

He then loaded the two bodies onto their Toyota Land Cruiser before driving to a bush, about 25 kilometres from their property where he burnt their bodies beyond recognition.

The court heard that when the couple did not call to say they had arrived, one of their daughters became suspicious and called a neighbour to investigate.

A report was made leading to the discovery of the charred bodies and subsequent arrest of Mafanedza following investigations.

He was found in possession of his employers’ cellphones, a credit card and R2 000.
The bodies were identified by the jewellery they had on.
