A MAN from Pumula South suburb in Bulawayo committed suicide after he was allegedly denied sex by his girlfriend.

The deceased, Thembani Ngwenya (42), was in love with Prisca Ncube (21) since July last year.

A source close to the pair said their romance was the talk of the suburb.
However, things soured last week on Friday in the evening after Ngwenya allegedly saw his sweetheart cuddling an unknown man.

A family insider said following that incident their relationship soured.

“ Ngwenya saw Prisca cuddling an unknown man. After that Ngwenya hit Prisca. Since then their love affair has been punctuated by quarrels and fights,” a source said.

The family insider added: “ They had such a big row last week on Friday after Prisca mouthed -off about his age saying she could not get along with him as he was too old, backward and was physically abusing her.”

A police source said: “ Last week they had an argument , a neighbour had to intervene and calmed down the tempers. Sadly that was the straw that broke the camel’s back as Ngwenya headed for their bedroom and was later found hanging from the roof truss by his girlfriend.”

The source went on to reveal that the deceased left a suicide note detailing the reasons why he had cut his life short.

“He said arguments were the order of the day after he found out that Prisca was cheating on him and always denied him sex despite the fact that he was doing all he could to make her happy but all his efforts were futile as she cheated on him,”said the source.

Acting Bulawayo spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele confirmed the incident: “ I can confirm that we received a case of a man who committed suicide after he had an argument with his girlfriend. We would like to advise members of the public to seek counselling services from a pastor, police force ‘s Victim Friendly Unity(VFU) or elders in the community than to commit suicide.”
