Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Thando Madhoyo confirmed the incident.
He said the 25-year-old-man, who cannot be named because his next of kin are yet to be advised, hanged himself with a barbed wire.
It is reported that on May 5, the man was given US$10 by one Mrs Eugenia Chaka to give to his boss, Mr Muromo Mubaiwa.
However, he went to Chivhu where he is said to have used the money.
Upon his return last Friday, Mrs Chaka confronted him and ordered him to accompany her to face his boss.
Asst Insp Madhoyo said along the way, the man asked to relieve himself in a nearby bush and left Mrs Chaka waiting by the roadside.
He however, did not return and Mrs Chaka returned to her homestead.
His body was discovered hanging from a tree the next day around 4:30pm.
A report was made to Featherstone police station.
Asst Insp Madhoyo said no foul play is suspected.
