A Harare man has appeared in court accused of harassing his ex-girlfriend in public.
Sydney Chibayambuya allegedly undressed his ex-girlfriend Samantha Kamoto demanding clothes he bought for her before their separation six months ago.
Chibayambuya claimed Samantha cheated on him while she argues that he was the first to be unfaithful.
The pair appeared before Harare magistrate Meenal Narotam who granted Samantha a protection order.
“We separated six months ago after Sydney cheated on me and chased me out from his house.
“He claims that I was dating multiple men behind his back and whenever he meets me in public he harasses and undresses me.
“On Saturday he lifted up my skirt when we met at the shops, we got into a fight and he broke my thumb ,” said Samantha.
Sydney said he feels betrayed each time he sees Samantha.
“She is lying to the court that I broke her thumb.
“I was just jealous that she has managed to move on so fast after we broke up,” said Sydney.
Magistrate Naratom ordered Sydney to stop harassing and insulting Samantha.
