A 36-year-old man impregnated a Form 4 student before taking her as his wife and later dumped her.
The student aged 16, is expecting twins beginning next month and is struggling to prepare baby wear.
Kudzai Masakadze, who was protected from police arrest by the girl’s relatives, told H-Metro that he had reasoned with the student’s parents and paid part of her Ordinary Level Examination fees.
“It is true that I am the one responsible for her pregnancy,” said Masakadze.
“Medical examination has since confirmed twin babies we are expecting. When I impregnated her, I approached her parents and we agreed to settle the damages.
“I paid US$100 towards her examination fees. Her mother later came to my house accusing me of ill-treating her and she took her to the village in Mvurwi.
“I could not continue supporting her because of her mother.
“They are now struggling to have a baby wear since she is expecting and Tadiwanashe is ever calling for help.
“Ngaabatsirweka nevakamutora kwandiri,” said Masakadze.
The girl’s close relative told H-Metro that Masakadze had been physically abusing her leading them to decide on ending the unholy marriage.
“Yes, we took our daughter because of the ill-treatment she endured.
“Our daughter is expecting twin babies according to a scan and we have no baby wear for the twins expected.
“If we may get assistance.
“Masakadze pleaded for mercy when he impregnated our daughter but after feeling safe from being arrested, he started to abuse her.

The 16-year-old girl has been under pressure from both her parents and Masakadze for the past nine months.
